Kids Can Help Too

At the Edmonton Humane Society we are always looking for extra help and donations since we are a non-profit organization. Helping is not limited to adults, youngsters can get in on the action too!

Here are some creative ways kids can help out the animals at the Edmonton Humane Society:

  • Organize a dog biscuit bake sale! Head down to your local doggy park and sell the baked goods. Make sure that you tell your customers that proceeds are going to support the Edmonton Humane Society! Call the EHS to get a poster for your event.
  • Collect “Pennies for Pets”. Get together with your friends, school, or church group and gather spare change. At the end of your collection, host a “rolling” night to figure out how much you’ve collected.
  • Host an animal themed movie night- moviegoers will need to bring an item from the Edmonton Humane Society’s wish list, cash, or Canadian Tire Money.
  • At your next birthday party, have your guests brings gifts and/or money for the animals! Donations of $10.00 or more receive an official tax receipt.
  • Arrange a dog wash. You can donate the proceeds towards the Edmonton Humane Society.
  • Wish list drive: Call for our wish list or visit our website and collect a variety of items that help to alleviate the costs of caring for the shelter animals.
  • Host a bake sale: Make human and pet treats, package them in cute bags and sell them to your friends and family or go to the local dog park. Donate the profits to the Edmonton Humane Society.
  • Make toys for the shelter animals at the Edmonton Humane Society.
  • Collect Pop Cans for Pooches: Save your pop cans, ask your neighbours too and donate the deposit money to the animals.
