Welcome to the Edmonton Humane Society's Online Newsroom. The EHS appreciates the deadlines and pressures that members of the media are under, so this section is dedicated to making your work covering animal-related stories easier.

We are proud of the wonderful relationship that we have developed with the media and the community by being transparent, accessible, honest, and accountable. We will ALWAYS provide a comment for any story that you are working on. Just give us a call or e-mail us for assistance.

Please take some time to browse our newsroom for "hot topics"; story ideas about the companion animals in our care; dedicated staff and volunteers; and any new programs or services that we provide. We also have frequently asked questions about the EHS to help you with your research.

Media Contacts for Other Animal Protection Organizations in Edmonton:

Alberta SPCA
The EHS is not affiliated with the Alberta SPCA, but sometimes collaborates with the organization on some animal abuse investigations.  The organizations also sometimes work together to educate the public about animal related issues.

City of Edmonton
The EHS is also not affiliated with the City of Edmonton's Animal Care and Control Facility.   However, we often bring adoptable strays transferred from the City department and find them homes.  If the media has questions about stray animal management within the City of Edmonton, they are asked to call this department instead of the EHS.
