Behavior and Training

The Edmonton Humane Society does all that it can to work with any companion animal in its care, to address any behavior issue that a pet may have.The EHS' team of animal behaviorists provide daily enrichment to our shelter animals, such as providing toys, socialization activities, and behavior modification sessions.
The behavior department staff also provide tools to the public to help members of the community be responsible pet owners, such as:
- Pet Behavior classes;
- Dog agility classes;
- Dog daycare service;
- Gated, secure, off-leash dog park for members-only.
For specific inquiries about our animal behavior department, call our Animal Behavior Hotline at 780-491-3521, or our Canine Enrichment Centre at 780-491-3888.
Check out these pics below from our first "Agility Fun Match" held at our shelter on Saturday, August 28th. As you can see, it was fun for both the dogs and the people involved. All participants had a great time trying actual agility courses in a true competition setting. Thanks goes out to the staff, volunteers, participants and Teagan Photography who all helped make this day safe and fun. NOTE: We now have a dog agility drop-in every Friday night.
