On Saturday, June 17, 2017, the Gordon and Diane Buchanan Family Foundation made a generous donation of $250,000 to the Edmonton Humane Society (EHS), one of the largest single donations in EHS recent history.

“The magnitude of the support from the Gordon and Diane Buchanan Family Foundation is now embedded in our organization’s history,” said Miranda Jordan-Smith, Edmonton Humane Society Chief Executive Officer. “This legacy gift is a true celebration of the human-animal bond that will change lives.”

The funds will go towards medical equipment, spay-and-neuter programs devoted to addressing overpopulation and humane education programs that build compassion and empathy in the community. The impact of a donation this large also ensures thousands of animals receive the medical attention, treatment, food, shelter and care they need.
