Who we are:

The Edmonton Humane Society (EHS) is seeking board members to contribute to the Society's commitment to helping homeless and abused companion animals, enlightening people, and enriching lives.

Meet our current board of directors.

Who you are:
Of course, as a member in good standing of the EHS for at least 30 days prior to the Annual General Meeting (AGM), you love animals, and are committed to the values, mission, goals and objectives of the EHS.  You are an experienced senior manager, with expertise to share in one or more of the following areas:

  • financial;
  • management;
  • planning;
  • community relations;
  • legal;
  • risk management;
  • governance;
  • policy development and/or fundraising.

You understand and respect the differences between governance and operations, and are a strategic thinker who eagerly considers new ideas and respects other opinions. You are able to commit 10 - 15 hours per month to prepare and review Board documents; attend Board meetings; and complete action items. You are also able to give additional time if needed, for committee, task force work, and attendance at EHS events.

About the Board Term:

Each board member is elected to a two year term, with the option to renew for a maximum of three additional terms (total 8 years). Nominations are held annually for vacant positions and new members are elected by the membership at the Annual General Meeting. Pleast note: applications for this AGM are now closed.
