Don’t know what to do when the kiddies have a day off from school?
Try our fun and interactive Humane Education kids’ day camps! Edmonton Humane Society’s Humane Education department offers a variety of animal welfare themed camps for children in grades 1 through 6 that are aimed to provide a memorable and educational day that will have a lasting impact and create fond memories.
Each day camp takes place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with early drop-off available between 8 and 9 a.m., and pick-up between 4 and 5 p.m. at no additional cost.
Please note: We are unable to guarantee interactions with our shelter animals in camp as the availability of suitable animals varies each day due to adoption rates, sicknesses, emergency surgeries, etc.
ACTION FOR ANIMALS
Monday, December 23
Do you want to learn how can you help animals? Whether it be making animal enrichment toys, how to interact with animals in public, or things to do in your community, come join us for a fun filled day at camp! We will even have a special guest from the Peace Officers at Animal Care and Control!
Friday, December 27
All about cats! Does your child love cats? Throughout the day we will learn about the wonderful animal that is the cat, how they talk to us, what they need and a cool science experiment on why do cats eyes glow!
VETS FOR PETS

Take a peek inside a day in the life of a veterinarian! Vets for Pets is all about how to keep your animal healthy, happy and well taken care of! We will even have a special guest joining us to talk about what it is like to be a part of a medical team!
ONCE UPON AN ADOPTION
Thursday, January 2
Has your child wondered how does an animal end up in the shelter and what do we do once they are here? This camp day is going to take your child on a journey through the eyes of animal, how they end up here, how they interact with staff and volunteers and how they find their new homes!

Dogs, dogs and more dogs! This camp is a day to learn how to interact with dogs, simple training techniques, dog body language and ways to keep your furry friend entertained for a long day!
