Who We Are & What We Do

Location Options:

  • On-site: At The Edmonton Humane Society
  • Off-site: At your school or facility (up to 70km from EHS)

Participants will learn the basic needs of all animals as well as the five freedoms of animal welfare. Attendees will be introduced to what responsible pet ownership is and apply their knowledge in a cooperative activity about the needs of companion animals.

Themes covered: Different types of pets, Basic Needs of Animals, Five Freedoms of Animal Welfare, Responsible Pet Ownership & Enrichment.

This presentation can accommodate up to 35 people (children and adults).

On-site Bonus: Add on a behind-the-scenes tour of our shelter to see how animals get ready for adoption.

Tours can accommodate 20 people max. Please contact for larger groups.

**Student to adult ratio must be 5:1 for these add-ons.**
