Help your dog feel safer and more comfortable during grooming, handling and veterinary care. In this hands-on class, you will learn how to introduce common care routines gradually and positively, including nail trims, brushing, bathing, tooth brushing, body handling and veterinary examinations.
- This class is designed for dogs of all sizes.
- Dogs must have current vaccinations.
What You’ll Learn
Using gradual, reward-based training, you will help your dog build confidence with common equipment, unfamiliar handling and everyday care routines. You’ll also gain knowledge about cooperative care behaviours such as:
- Chin rests.
- Stationing and calm positioning.
- Giving your dog clearer ways to communicate and participate during their care.
Whether you are preparing a puppy for future care or helping an adult dog become more comfortable with everyday routines, this class will give you practical tools to make grooming and veterinary visits less stressful for both you and your dog.
Children under the age of 18 are not permitted to handle animals during class.
Children over the age of 12 must be supervised by an adult and if they cause any interference during class, they will be excused.
