Is your dog barking, lunging, or pulling on leash when they see other dogs, people, or distractions? You’re not alone, and we’re here to help.

Leash Reactivity 101 is a six-week group class designed to help you and your dog build calm, focused behaviour on walks. This course is ideal for dogs who struggle with leash reactivity due to frustration, fear, or overexcitement.

Class Requirements

  • Dogs must be at least six months of age by class start and understand basic commands.
  • Dogs must have current vaccinations to participate, including DHLPP and rabies. A canine cough vaccine is highly recommended. Titer tests will be accepted in place of vaccines.

If your dog has a bite history or shows signs of severe aggression, please contact us before registering to determine if this class is the right fit.

What You’ll Learn

  • How to recognize and manage your dog’s reactivity triggers.
  • Foundational skills to build focus and calm behaviour around distractions.
  • Techniques for creating safer, more enjoyable walks.
  • Positive reinforcement methods that strengthen your bond.

Class Structure

Classes are held once a week, for a total of six weeks. Please note that holidays may impact scheduling. Your instructor will provide any necessary updates if your class will be affected by a holiday.

This class is structured for learning and not for socialization. Dogs will be working in a controlled environment with space between them to set everyone up for success.

Some sessions may be held outdoors, depending on the weather.

While this class is designed for dogs of all sizes, it may not be suitable for all dogs.

Children under the age of 18 are not permitted to handle animals during class.

Children over the age of 12 must be supervised by an adult and if they cause any interference during class, they will be excused.
