Be Prepared with Our Pet First Aid Course

This 2-day course teaches you the steps to take in a pet emergency situation and covers:

  • How to safely approach an injured animal.
  • Recognizing signs of common illness and injury.
  • How to handle various bleeding wounds.
  • Addressing choking and poisoning.
  • Animal CPR.
  • And much more!

You’ll also receive a manual and mini quick reference guide so you can feel prepared and confident in your new pet first aid skills.

This course is taught by a certified Walks ‘N’ Wags instructor. Walks ‘N’ Wags has offered pet first aid classes since 2003.

Frequently Asked Questions

You’re welcome to bring your dog with you to class as long as they meet the following criteria:

  • They must not show reactive or aggressive behaviours to other dogs or people.
  • They must not be disruptive to the class.
  • They must have up-to-date rabies and DAP vaccinations.
  • They must be able to tolerate handling, such as bandaging and splinting.

Any dogs who are unable to stay in class will be required to be taken home.

If you would like to bring your dog, please bring some toys or treats for them to play with during class. Water and soft bedding can be provided.
