Back for another day of festival fun in the sun, we’re ready to paw-ty. Come celebrate the special bond we have with our pets as we raise funds to support the work we do at the Edmonton Humane Society. Enjoy a day full of pawesome events and activities for people and companion animals.

This event is free to attend and so are all of our activity stations!

We’re Back at Buena Vista Park

This year’s event is once again located at Buena Vista Park!

The park is located on the north bank of the river, adjacent to Sir Wilfred Laurier Park.

Join the EHS Walk/Run for Pets!

Registration is open for our 34^th annual walk/run fundraiser!

Join as an individual paw-ticipant or gather your pack and register together! Choose between the 2.5 km walk or 5 km run and bring your animal companion along when it starts at 9 a.m. at Buena Vista Park.

By signing up for the EHS Walk/Run for Pets, you’re taking a meaningful step to help animals in our care at the Edmonton Humane Society.

Get Your Paws on 50/50 Tickets!

It’s your chance to win BIG while supporting an amazing cause. Our Pets in the Park 50/50 could climb to $90,000, meaning you could take home up to $47,500!

When you purchase lottery tickets in support of the Edmonton Humane Society, you directly contribute to the care and adoption of animals in need. Your ticket also helps support programs and services that help people and pets thrive, together.

Festival Activities

Dachshund Dash

Participate in one of our most popular events at the Pets in the Park outdoor festival – the Dachshund Dash! Compete against other Dachshunds to the cheers of adoring fans.

To register, be an adorable Dachshund who is comfortable in large crowds of people and other pets.

Advanced registration closes at 12 p.m. on Friday, June 12.

Keep Everyone Safe by Using Our Pet Checklist

We want to make sure that Pets in the Park is a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, including our animal friends. Make sure you review this important checklist before heading to the festival with your animal companion!

My pet’s vaccinations are up-to-date.
My pet is sociable with other animals and has no past history of aggression.
My pet will be properly restrained. For everyone’s safety, no retractable leashes.
I will monitor my pet for heat sensitivity.
I will pick up after my pet.
I will know where the water stations are in case my pet gets thirsty or needs to cool down.

How to Get to the Festival

There will be limited parking available at Buena Vista Park. Pet-friendly shuttle buses will be available at the Edmonton Humane Society and Westmount Shopping Centre. Alternatively, we suggest carpooling or having someone drop attendees off at the festival grounds.

Both shuttle locations will have round-trip pickups to get people and pets to and from the festival. The buses will have 46 seats available.

Shuttles are free to take, but donations to our Toy Drive for Pets are appreciated. For more information about items we can and can’t accept, visit our Gift in Kind Item Wish List.

Shuttle Bus Locations

The Edmonton Humane Society

Pick-up for the shuttle bus from the Edmonton Humane Society will be located on our shelter campus, outside our Adoption Gallery doors.

The trip from EHS takes approximately 20 minutes each way.

Parking will be available at EHS for anyone who wishes to take a shuttle to Buena Vista Park.

Westmount Shopping Centre

Pick-up for the shuttle bus from Westmount Shopping Centre will be located in the north parking lot, which can be accessed via 114 Ave NE or 135 St NW.

The trip takes approximately 15 minutes each way.

Buena Vista Park

Drop-off and pick-up for attendees at Buena Vista Park will be located on Buena Vista Road NW. It’s approximately a 5-minute walk to the festival grounds from this location.

There are a total of 7 bus times available departing from our shelter.

This bus runs continuously throughout the day from Westmount Shopping Centre, from 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. that day. The bus does round trips, picking up and dropping off people and pets waiting at either location.

Each trip takes approximately 15 minutes each way.
