Announcement of Permanent Closure of EHS Doggie Daycare

1:45 p.m.

The Edmonton Humane Society (EHS) Doggie Daycare has been permanently closed effective Thursday, January 7, 2021.

This difficult decision was made as part of EHS’ overall direction and budget for 2021. COVID-19 has created continued uncertainty, and we are seeing more people working from home and keeping their pets at home with them. As a non-profit organization which provides vital services in our community, we must ensure our organization remains sustainable amidst the challenges of the pandemic, and that we can continue to provide our core services to people and pets in need into the future.

The Canine Enrichment Centre remains a valuable space to our organization’s work, and will be used for expanded training programs to support the human-animal bond as well as provide additional space for the exercise, enrichment and behavior modification of our shelter dogs.

We sincerely thank you all of our EHS Doggie Daycare clients for their loyalty and patronage over the past years.
