Ginger
Dear Edmonton Humane Society,
In November 1998, our family went on a search at the Humane Society for a new dog. When we met Ginger (formerly known as Angel), we instantly fell in love with her. She was already a year old and we will always remember that her profile described her as "very, very playful". They weren't kidding!
When we took her home that day in November, she didn't even bat an eye at our two cats (who were at the time terrified of this dog who was full of energy). But they adjusted and one of our cats in particular had a special bond with Ginger.
Ginger enjoyed long walks, chew toys and playing tug-of-war... especially with our winter boots! She was the best dog we could have ever asked for. Loyal, goofy and cuddly.
After a wonderful 12 years with our beloved Ginger, she passed away on June 26, 2010. While we mourn for the loss of our family member, we cherish all the time we had with Ginger and feel truly blessed. She was a big part of our lives and we will miss her every day.
Thank you for all the work you do at the Humane Society. Your dedication to animals like Ginger helps bring joy and happiness to families like us. We were honoured to give Ginger the Forever Home she deserved.
